Free Accounting Software will OPTIONALLY download and install Microsoft's SQL Desktop Engine 2000 (Free From Microsoft) for you. PLEASE do not download and install MSDE manually. Let the installer do it for you. Most users who cannot get Free Accounting Software to run properly install the MSDE manually using the wrong installation mode. PLEASE let the Free Accounting Software installation program install MSDE for you! If you have MSSQL already installed you will not be required to install MSDE, the Free Accounting Software installer will ask you if you want to install MSDE or use an existing MSDE/MSSQL installation if one is detected on your network.
During installation you will be asked to create a user name and password for your database. PLEASE WRITE THIS USER NAME AND PASSWORD DOWN and do not lose it. Fifty percent of the support calls and question are from people who have lost their user name and password!

Free Accounting software can be installed as single user or multi user software. The installer will ask you if you want to install the Server and/or client software. If you are installing on a single computer you must install BOTH the Free Accounting Software server and Free Accounting Software client on that computer.
